Our section fulfilled the Radio 1 remit by mentioning the Big Weekend event, giving examples of the artists attending and including where they are from. We also fulfilled the remit when talking about the upcoming Doctor Who by including interviews from local people in Sheffield and mentioned events that had taken place recently in the area. We also included how a female doctor will impact society and the media and why with quotations from a prominent figure in the media surrounding Doctor Who. This appeals to the Radio 1 target audience of 15-29 year olds because many fans of Doctor Who are reasonably young. It also appeals to those outside of the most popular areas of the UK as it includes local interviews as well as more general information and updates.
